Daily Ops Digest and Scheduled Reports with an LLM

One of the most useful things to ask your AI assistant each morning is simply: "What needs my attention today?" It can look across your facilities in one pass: orders, inventory, compliance sync and production. It leads with the few things that need action. It only reads data and makes no changes. What a digest can cover

Section	What it looks at
Orders due	Wholesale orders due to go out today and tomorrow
Shortages	Stock you'll be short of for those orders, counting production already scheduled
Stuck orders	Orders past their delivery date that haven't shipped
Unpaid orders	Shipped or completed orders still awaiting payment, with the open balance
Retail	Open, needs-review, back-order and pre-order counts, and orders due today and tomorrow, per store
Compliance sync	Inventory that is pending, partially synced or out of sync with Metrc or BioTrack
Locked inventory	Locked packages by lock reason
Production	Work orders scheduled today, in progress, or paused

The assistant skips sections that don't apply to you. For example, it skips retail if you have no stores, and compliance sync if you're not on Metrc or BioTrack.

Post it to your team

If Slack or Microsoft Teams is connected to your AI client, ask the assistant to post the digest to a channel, for example "Post today's ops digest to #ops." It will show you the message and the channel the first time before posting.

If a calendar is connected, you can also ask it to put today's and tomorrow's production runs on a shared calendar.

Run it every morning

If your AI client supports scheduled tasks, set the digest up once: "Every weekday at 7:30, run my ops digest for all facilities and post it to #ops." It then runs automatically at that time.

A scheduled digest runs at the times you set. It won't alert you the moment something changes, such as a package going out of sync mid-afternoon.

Tools used

All read-only, so they're safe to set to Always allow: outbound_orders_query, order_inventory_availability_get_by_id, retail_order_metrics_get, inventory_summary_query, mfg_work_order_query and user_facilities.
