Browser Security Update – Action May Be Required

Browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Firefox are introducing new Local Network Access (LNA) security rules. These changes affect how QZ Tray — the secure connector between Flourish and your printers — communicates with your computer.

When this update is applied, your browser may display a message like:

“example.com wants to look for and connect to any device on your local network.”

This message is normal and safe. To ensure your printer continues to work correctly, please click “Allow.”

If you are unsure or require assistance, please check with your IT administrator before changing these settings.

🔄 If You Clicked “Block” by Mistake

If you accidentally clicked “Block”, QZ Tray will not be able to connect to your printer until permissions are restored. Follow the steps below to re-enable Local Network Access for your browser.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the padlock icon (🔒) or Connection icon () next to the address bar.
  2. In the menu that appears, find Local network access.
  3. Toggle the setting ON, or click Reset permission.
  4. Refresh the page — you will see the pop-up again.
  5. Click Allow when prompted.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the padlock icon next to the address bar.
  2. Select Site permissions.
  3. Locate Local network access.
  4. Change the setting from Block to Allow.
  5. Refresh the page and reconnect QZ Tray.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the padlock icon next to the address bar.
  2. Select More InformationPermissions.
  3. Look for Access other apps and services on this device.
  4. Set the permission to Allow.
  5. Refresh the page and click Allow when prompted again.

✅ Additional Tips

  • To completely reset permissions:
    • Chrome: Go to chrome://settings/content/all, search for your site (e.g., flourishsoftware.com), and remove permissions.
    • Firefox: Go to about:preferences#privacyManage Data → remove the site entry.
QZ Tray connects only locally to your computer. It does not access other devices or networks.
