This configuration rounds sales at Retail Point of Sale to the nearest Nickel ($0.05), Dime ($0.10), or Quarter ($0.25). Now that the United States has stopped printing the penny, this feature helps retailers better manage change.

  • The configuration sets the rounding denomination.
  • Choose to round up, round down, or round to the nearest denomination.
  • This only applies to the cash payment method.

Navigate to Settings > Configuration and locate this option in the Retail section of the page

At Point of Sale

At checkout, the total will automatically round when the payment method "Cash" is selected. There is a notice at the top that the amount is rounded. This is informational for the retail user.

FAQ

Can a user split payment methods between, for example, account credit and cash?

Yes, this is supported. Best practice is to do cash second. The point of sale will process to the penny for the non-cash methods

How do refunds work?

Refunds are based on the funds received from the user. If the total is rounded, the refund would be for the rounded amount.

Does this impact reconciliation?

Flourish's point of sale will record the actual amount of change received or given. The till should reconcile correctly based on the receipt total.
