How to Find or Generate your METRC API Key
Learn how to find or generate your unique METRC API key in the METRC system and connect it to Flourish Software for seamless integration and compliance tracking.
For Flourish Software to integrate with METRC, each user will need a unique METRC API key. Follow the steps below to generate your API key in METRC.
(For multi-license environments) If all licenses are under the same Metrc environment/login, click Generate only once, as one API key is valid for all licenses and generating multiple keys can cause earlier keys to become invalid.
If you generate a new API key at any time, please email the new key to support@flourishsoftware.com so your Metrc integration continues syncing without interruption.
How to find your METRC API Key
- Log in to METRC with your username and password.
- Click on your user ID in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- On the dropdown menu, click "API keys".
- On the API Keys page, your API key will populate in the box under Programmatic Access. If you do not see a number in the box, click "generate".
- During onboarding, your dedicated implementation engineer will help you connect your METRC API key to Flourish. To check the status of your API key within the Flourish environment, go to Manage Settings > Facilities > Compliance.

METRC Permissions
Metrc permissions control what a user can access and do within Metrc, and can limit what a user can successfully do in Flourish. These permissions are assigned to each user profile (and can vary by facility) and determine whether the user can view information or manage actions like creating, updating, receiving, or voiding activity in Metrc.
