Prerequisites

Facility Configuration

To enforce purchase limits on your retail orders, the facility configuration option Enforce purchase limits under the Compliance section must be enabled.

Item/Package Configuration

Purchase limits vary by state and customer type (medical vs. recreational/adult use). States set limits based on broad item categories. For example, a customer may purchase more flower than concentrate, and medical customers typically have higher limits than recreational customers. Flourish calculates the total cannabinoid content in the cart and compares it against the legal limit. To do this, Flourish needs the THC value for each item in the cart. See the Purchase Limits By State section at the bottom of this article for details on how values are determined.

Building the Cart

Purchase Limit Tracking in POS

Purpose

Purchase limit tracking displays real-time allocation updates as you add items to the cart. The system compares the customer's maximum purchase allowed against the estimated quantity in cart and uses color indicators to show whether the cart is within or exceeding the limit.

Add items to the cart

1. Add an item to the cart or update the quantity of an item in the cart.
2. The Estimated quantity in cart updates based on the item's allocation.
3. Flourish compares Max purchase allowed to Estimated quantity in cart.
4. The system displays the values in green when Estimated quantity in cart is less than or equal to Max purchase allowed.

   

5. The system displays the values in red when Estimated quantity in cart exceeds Max purchase allowed.

   

Allocate the cart

Flourish supports multiple workflows for building and allocating retail carts. Some facilities scan packages at the point of sale, building and allocating the cart in the POS. Others build the cart at the point of sale and allocate packages in the back of house.

Performing the Validation

The Happy Path

When you click "Check out," Flourish Software validates the cart. If the cart passes validation, Flourish moves on to the payment screen.

Hold up!

If the cart contents exceed purchase limits, the validation modal opens with a detailed explanation of the issue.

There are two options from this point:

• Override The Validation
• Reduce the content of the cart

Override The Validation

If you believe that the purchase limit validation is incorrect for whatever reason (e.g., perhaps a package's THC content was recorded with a decimal in the wrong place), Flourish will not prevent you from completing a sale. However, in order to Proceed, you will be asked to enter your PIN to override the validation.

To authorize the override with a PIN, the user must have a role assigned with the Override purchase limit validation to complete purchase action permission turned on. Upon entering your PIN, if the override is successfully authorized, you can proceed to checkout.

Configure this permission:

Click Settings Select User Roles Click Point of Sale Choose the appropriate role Locate the Shop card Next to Cart, open the Actions menu to access the Shop Cart settings Toggle on Override Purchase Limit Validation to Complete Purchase Close the window Click Save

Reduce the content of the cart

1. Click Close to return to the cart.
2. Reduce the cart contents to bring it within purchase limits.
3. Click Validate/Check out again.
4. Verify the purchase is within legal limits.
5. Complete the sale.
