Set Up Deli-Style Retail Pricing with Price Sets

Use a tiered retail price set to sell flower or another weight-based item deli-style. Flourish POS uses the total weight on the line to select a pricing band, then multiplies that weight by the band's per-gram rate.

Before you start

• Required permissions: Admin access to manage item pricing
• The price set UOM must match the item's UOM. For example, a price set using grams applies only to items that also use grams.
• A retail item can have one active retail price set.
• Deli-style tiered pricing is for POS sales. Tiered items do not provide a single, flat retail price for e-commerce or other non-POS sales channels.

Steps

1. Go to Settings → Items → Price Sets.
2. Select Create New Price Set.
3. Enter the basic price-set details:
   • Group: Optional. Use a group if you want the price set to inherit and maintain item assignments through that group.
   • Name: Enter a descriptive name, such as Standard Deli Flower.
   • Channel Scope: Select Retail.
   • UOM: Select the weight unit used by the items, such as Gram.
   • Status: Set the price to Active when it is ready to use.
4. Select the tiered, per-gram pricing mode.
5. Add the weight bands and enter a price per gram for each band. Build a continuous ladder. Set each band's upper boundary equal to the next band's lower boundary so there are no gaps or overlaps.

6. Save the price set.
7. Note: You can add items directly to a price set here. Alternatively, open an item that uses the same UOM, then find its Price Sets section.
8. Add the new retail price set. Only active price sets with a matching UOM appear. If another retail price set is assigned, confirm the replacement when prompted.

Expected result

At POS, Flourish totals the package weights on the line, selects the matching band, and calculates the line price as total weight × the band's per-gram rate. The result is rounded to the nearest cent, and eligible discounts apply afterward.

For example, a 5 g line in the first example band is 5 × $12.00 = $60.00. Two packages of the same item on one line are combined when Flourish selects the band; weights from separate item lines are not combined.

Common issues

• Save is blocked: Check that the first band starts at zero, adjacent boundaries match, and the last band has no upper boundary. The screen validates this when building the price set.
• The price set does not appear when assigning it: Confirm that the price set is active and that the item is assigned to the price set or the price set group (and the price set group is assigned to the price set).
• The item uses its item-level price: Confirm that the tiered retail price set is active and assigned to the item. Item-level pricing is the fallback when no price set applies.
