Retail POS: Allocate Packages to an Order

Summary

Allocate specific cannabis packages to an order without leaving Retail POS. Use this method when fulfillment at point of sale is enabled and sellable inventory is available to the checkout team.

Before you start

  • Ask an administrator to enable Enable fulfillment at point of sale in the facility's Retail configuration.
  • Build the customer's cart.
  • Confirm the correct facility and inventory package.
  • Follow integration- and jurisdiction-specific allocation requirements.

Allocate packages

  1. Open the customer's order in Retail POS.
  2. Under the first cannabis order line, select Add Package.
  3. Select the correct Package ID.
  4. Enter the quantity to allocate from that package.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 until the full ordered quantity is allocated.
  6. Repeat for every cannabis order line.
  7. Review the package IDs and allocated quantities.
  8. Select Check Out.

Allocate from more than one package

Add each package separately and enter the quantity allocated from it. The combined allocated quantity must satisfy the order line.

If you need separate discounts or quantities for the same item, split the order line.

Expected result

Every cannabis order line is fully allocated to eligible inventory. The order is ready for payment and completion.

Common issues

Add Package is not available

Confirm that Enable fulfillment at point of sale is enabled for the facility.

The package does not appear

Confirm that the package belongs to the correct facility, is eligible for sale, is not locked, and has enough available quantity.

A scan matches a cannabis UPC or SKU

Use a Package ID or Lot Number. The documented scanning rules do not allocate cannabis inventory from a UPC or SKU alone.

More than one package matches a lot number

Select the correct eligible package manually. See POS Item Scanning Rules.
