Managing Plants in Flourish: Overview

Grow module manages cultivation from propagation through harvest. Plants tracked by group initially, then individual IDs in vegetation phase. Post-harvest, plants categorized as trim, flower, whole plant, or waste, then packaged into harvest lots for inventory.

Table of Contents

This article explains how plants are organized and how they move through the Grow module after they're created. It also links to the guide for each task throughout the plant lifecycle. To start new plants, see Creating Plants in Flourish: Overview. To cut plants down and package them, see Harvesting in Flourish: Overview.

How Plants Are Organized

  • Groups. Every plant belongs to exactly one group. A group can contain more than one strain and, in Metrc, more than one plant batch. You can do most actions once for the whole group: move, record waste, apply additives, and print tags.
  • Areas and stages. A group is in one area at a time, and the area's type sets the stage for the plants. For example, moving a group into a Flowering area puts those plants in the Flowering stage.
  • Plant IDs. In Propagation, plants are counted as part of their group. From Vegetation onward, each plant has its own Plant ID. The ID is either created by Flourish or assigned from your state system, so you can act on individual plants.

Cultivation Stages

Stage

What happens here

Propagation

Clones, seeds, and tissue cultures are started and rooted. Plants are counted by group and by plant batch in Metrc.

Vegetation

Plants grow before flowering, and each plant has a Plant ID. Mother plants kept for cloning are also tracked from this stage.

Flowering

Plants produce flower. Flourish tracks days in flowering, survival rate, and the expected harvest date.

Drying

Harvested plants become a harvest. Wet and dry weights, harvest waste, and harvest packages are recorded here. See Harvesting in Flourish: Overview.

Once harvest packages are created, the product is in Inventory and no longer in the Grow module.

Metrc and BioTrack Facilities

Metrc: Moves, strain changes, waste, and destroys sync to Metrc when you save them. If a plant action doesn't sync, see Retry Syncing Out-of-Sync Plants to Metrc. If someone made changes directly in Metrc, see Sync Cultivation Data from Metrc. For mother plants, see Track Mother Plants and Groups in Metrc.
BioTrack: BioTrack facilities don't have a Propagation stage. Clones and seeds are stored as inventory packages. For state-specific steps, see the Connecticut BioTrack Cultivation Guide or the Florida BioTrack articles.

Where to Find Plant Records

  • Inventory > Plants > All Plants lists every plant. Use Plants: Active and Plants: Dead to filter the list.
  • Inventory > Plants > Waste Log lists cultivation waste recorded before harvest.
  • Analytics > Facility Cultivation > Live Reporting contains cultivation reports, such as Applied Inventory to Plants.
