Jurisdiction

The instructions and processes below apply for:

  • A state that allows recreational retail.
  • A facility that is not designated as a Medical facility.

Med and Rec purchases

  • You can start a recreational sale when you check in an adult customer.
  • You can start a recreational or medical sale for customers who are verified medical patients and have state registry ID on their profile.

The sales differ in two ways:

  • Purchase limits.
  • Taxes.

Purchase limits

The purchase limits change according to the type of sale.

  • Medical purchase limit validation should only consider the previous two-week purchase/return history of medical purchases. The limits do not consider recreational purchases to calculate the "Max Purchase Allowed" quantity.
  • Recreational purchase limit validation is only concerned with the quantity purchased in the current transaction, irrespective of the customer making the purchase.

Taxes

The tax rate for recreational purchases differs from that for medical sales.
