Sync an Item from METRC
Learn how to import items from METRC into your Flourish environment seamlessly. This is a crucial step in cannabis inventory management.
Purpose
If an item already exists in METRC but not yet in Flourish, import it directly instead of re-creating it by hand. This article covers setting the correct facility, confirming the item isn't already in Flourish, and importing it with Sync from METRC.
Before you start
Importing pulls the item in for a specific facility, so you need to be working in the facility where the item was originally created in METRC. Confirm this first (Step 2 below).
The imported item lands in your company's shared Item Master, not a facility-specific one — the facility you select only controls which METRC license Flourish pulls the item's data from and creates the compliance mapping to. You can sync the same Flourish item to additional METRC facilities later without re-importing it.
Import an item from METRC
- Navigate to Settings > Inventory.
- Make sure the Facility ID in your browser URL matches the facility where the item was created in METRC. This is what makes Flourish look up the item in the correct METRC license.
- Single facility license: skip to Step 3.
- Multiple facility licenses: update the Facility ID in the URL, as shown below.

Search by the item name to confirm it isn't already in Flourish.
- After confirming the item doesn't exist in Flourish, click Sync from METRC in the upper right corner of the screen.
- In the dialog, enter the item's name exactly as it appears in METRC.
- Click Import Item and wait for the item to sync in from METRC.
- Click Sync Another? to import more items for that facility license.
- Click Cancel when you're done.
- Confirm the imported item appears in your Flourish inventory with the expected details.
