Creating Bill of Materials for Handling Case Quantities

Updated by Carly Westfall

Creating a Bill of Materials into case sizes allows you to create products with multiple packages that contain multiple units and accounts for all inventory items used at once.

When your products are pre-packaged into case sizes, this allows for a faster fulfillment process and more streamlined inventory counts process.

If you need to, click here to learn how to Create an Item or Clone an Item to Create a New Item.

Set Up Case Size BOM

METRC and BioTrack

For compliance-integrated Flourish instances, you will want to set the number of units as your case size.
Example: If the case size is 30 'eaches', then "Qty to Create" = 30, not 1 'case'.

  1. Enter the number of the case quantity or number of units in a case, in the "Qty to Create" field. Add components by clicking +Add New Detail. You can add an Item or a Category to the components list. Selecting an item category for your BOM will allow you to choose any active packages of that category when creating new inventory using the BOM.
Click the pencil icon to edit the line item of the existing bill of materials.
  1. Click the green check mark to save the line item components.
  2. Once you've added or modified your product components, click Save. You're done!
