Step 2 - preparing for METRC CA Location Functionality for Microbusinesses.

Updated by NIr Malchy

Hi!

We are following up to update you and answer any questions regarding California Location Functionality for Microbusinesses.

The Bottom Line

To make sure we keep your California Microbusiness compliant going into 2022, we need to make sure you are set up to provide locations for every newly created package beginning January 3rd, 2022.

  1. First, we will change your facility type in Flourish to Microbusiness.
  2. Next, we need you to make sure:
    1. There is at least one Inventory area set up in your facility where packages can be located, and
    2. That all your areas in Flourish are synced successfully to METRC.

That's it! Read on for details.

The METRC Schedule

  1. Before January 3rd, 2022 - Set METRC Location Type for your Inventory Areas.
  2. Before February 1st, 2022 - Set METRC Location Type for your Cultivation Areas.
  3. Between January 3rd, 2022 - February 1, 2022 - Locate all your active packages.

Our Plan

We want to send you home for the holiday with a clear mind and not to worry;

  • On the night of Thursday, December 30th, we will set your facility as type Microbusiness.
  • That will enable you to set METRC Location Type for your Inventory and Cultivation areas in Flourish on Friday, December 31st.

Next steps

Before Friday, December 31st
  1. Create Inventory-type Areas in Flourish, if you currently have none. Once your facility type is changed to Microbusiness, you will have to choose an inventory area for all new packages on creation.
  2. Rename or Disable Areas to prevent duplicate names.

That should make your next step easier and faster on Friday, December 31st.

On Friday, December 31st
  1. Set METRC Location Type for your Inventory Areas.
  2. Set METRC Location Type for your Cultivation Areas.

Before December 31st

METRC does not accept Areas with the same name, regardless of whether the Area Types are different. Please make sure that all the names of your areas in Flourish are unique. You can disable duplicate areas if they are unused, or rename them if you prefer.

  1. Learn how to Disable Areas you don't use.
  2. Learn how Rename Areas.

On December 31st

It is time to set the METRC Location Type for your Inventory and Cultivation Areas.

Update your Inventory Areas.

Select all your Areas with associated Area Types that are NOT Cultivation. The Area Types may include:

  • General
  • Inventory
  • Quarantine
  • Waste
You might not see all the Area Types in the filter (below). You only see what is already associated with existing areas. Do not set the METRC Location Type to Cultivation unless it is an area designated for plant batches, plants, or harvests.

Follow the steps below to set the METRC Location Type for each Area. After you configure them, they should all be in sync with METRC.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Facilities
  3. Click the eye icon under AREAS
  4. Use the filter to find ALL your non-Cultivation areas. Types might include General, Inventory, Quarantine, and Waste.
In this example, we have General and Inventory types available in the filter.
  5. All the areas in the filtered list should show sync status N/A.
  6. For each Area:
    1. Click to CONFIGURE
    2. Select Distribution, Manufacturing, or Retail as the METRC Location Type
    3. Click Save
  7. Flourish will create the area in METRC, and the area should soon show sync status In Sync.

Update your Cultivation Areas

Set the METRC Location Type to Cultivation for areas in Flourish with the following Area Types: Cloning, Vegetative, Mother, Flowering, Harvest, and Processing.

Set the METRC Location Type to Cultivation ONLY.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Facilities
  3. Click the eye icon under AREAS
  4. In the Areas page, use the filter to find your areas that have Area Types Cloning, Vegetative, Mother, Flowering, Harvest, and Processing
  5. For each Area:
    1. Click to CONFIGURE
    2. Select Cultivation as the METRC Location Type
    3. Click Save
