Happy Hour

Happy Hour discounts are only available during a certain window of time. Usually, we also limit a happy hour discount to a certain day or days of the week. To accomplish this, we'll leverage Specific Times in Order Attributes.

In our example, we're discounting $5.00 per pre-roll from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM every weekday.

  1. Start by creating a new discount or editing an existing one.
  2. Enter a discount name and update your toggles. Ours are stackable and automatic.
  3. Update your facility eligibility if needed. Ours is available to all of our facilities.
  4. Under Target Orders by Attribute, click Add New Attribute.
  5. In the dropdown, select Specific Times.
  6. Toggle Time Range 'On', then select the start and end times. Ours is 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
    1. This means that orders created between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM will be eligible to receive our Happy Hour discount.
    2. Optional: You can also toggle Days of the Week to limit the days your discount is available. If they're green, your discount is eligible on that day. Ours is eligible Monday through Friday.
  7. Select Standard Discount, then select the type of discount you want to apply. Ours removes $5.00 from each eligible item.
    1. Optional: Use the Item, Brand, Category, and Tag buttons to determine which items are eligible for your discount. Ours is eligible for any item in the Infused Pre-Roll or Non-Infused (Plain) Pre-Roll categories.
Use the Item Preview feature to see which of your items is eligible to receive your discount.
  1. Remember to click Save when your discount is finished!

Promo Codes

Promo codes require you to enter a particular code to qualify a customer for a discount. Flourish supports two types of promo codes — single-use and multi-use. We'll show you how to create both kinds of promo codes below.

Single-Use Promo Codes

You supply a promo code prefix for single-use promo codes, and Flourish will generate a batch of unique codes that begin with that prefix. Flourish tracks when they've been redeemed, and only a single redemption is allowed per code.

Promo codes are not generated until after you create and save your discount. When your discount is complete, edit it, enter the number of promo codes, then click Generate.

In our example, we're using the prefix HUSH to generate 50 unique promo codes. Once applied, our customers will receive 20% off of all HUSH brand items.

  1. Start by creating a new discount or editing an existing one.
  2. Enter a discount name and update your toggles. It's important that you enable the Promo Code Required toggle.
  3. Update your facility eligibility if needed. Ours is available to all of our facilities.
  4. In the Promo Code section, select the Single-Use button and enter a promo code prefix.
  5. Select Standard Discount, then select the type of discount you want to apply. Ours takes 20% off of any HUSH brand item with no exceptions.
    1. You can also use an Advanced Discount here.
  6. Remember to click Save when your discount is finished!
Your promo codes have not been generated yet. Without promo codes, you cannot apply this discount. Follow the steps below to generate your first batch or add new codes to your existing discount.
Generating Single-Use Promo Codes

If you're generating your first batch of promo codes or you've run out and need more, you'll need to make sure to generate them for your discount.

  1. Open your discount and click the Edit button in the top-right.
  2. Under Promo Code Batch, enter the number of promo codes to generate.
  3. Click the Generate button.
  4. When you're done, click Save.

Multi-Use Promo Codes

Multi-use promo codes can be redeemed by multiple customers, multiple times.

In our example, we've created a promo code that takes 10% off a customer's entire cart.

  1. Start by creating a new discount or editing an existing one.
  2. Enter a discount name and update your toggles. It's important that you enable the Promo Code Required toggle.
  3. Update your facility eligibility if needed. Ours is available to all of our facilities.
  4. In the Promo Code section, select the Multi-Use button and enter a promo code. Ours is LOCAL10.
  5. Select Standard Discount, then select the type of discount you want to apply. Ours takes 10% off of a customer's entire purchase.
    1. You can also use an Advanced Discount here.
  6. Remember to click Save when your discount is finished!
About Order- and Line-Level Promo Codes
When you're creating your discount, pay attention to what is being discounted.

If your discount affects individual items (for example, gets $X off a purchase line), it is a line-level discount.
If your discount affects the entire order (for example, gets X% off the entire purchase), it is an order-level discount.

Line-level promo codes are applied to the order line while order-level discounts are applied to the order. Check out this article for more information on where to apply these discounts.

Loyalty

One Free Pre-Roll

You want to give one of your pre-rolls for free to your loyal customers.

The "One Free Pre-Roll" is a typical Loyalty Discount that you can set up and apply in several ways. We picked up the way that is the easiest to set up and the easiest for the budtenders to use.

Most Retails set it up as:

  1. Start by creating a new discount or editing an existing one.
  2. Enter a discount name and update your toggles. Ours are stackable and automatic.
  3. Update your facility eligibility if needed. Ours is available to all of our facilities.
  4. Select Standard Discount, then select the type of discount you want to apply. Ours takes 15% off of a customer's purchase.
  5. Discount the most expensive pre-roll off the order line (gets $X off a purchase line).
  6. Set the "Max redemptions per purchase" to One.
  7. Loyalty Discounts are set not to be "Applied automatically."
  8. Remember to click Save when your discount is finished!
  9. On the POS, sell the free pre-roll on a separate order line.

In this example, you have two pre-rolls under the "Pre-Rolls" category:

  • Fire OG - 1g - $12.00
  • Super Lemon Haze - 1g - $11.00

Setting the discount as in the picture below ensures the clients get the discount once, even if they buy more than one pre-roll without the budtender splitting the order line.

Buy More, Save More

This setup is an example of a dollar-value discount:

  • Spend $100 - save $10 off the entire purchase.
  • Spend $200 - save $40 off the entire purchase.
  • Spend $350 - Save $80 off the entire purchase.

The attributes we want to keep:

1. Stackable - so it can work with other discounts

2. Applied automatically

The solution is three different discounts:

  1. One with an order minimum of $100 with an order discount value of $10.
  2. One with an order minimum of $200 with an order discount value of $30.
  3. One with an order minimum of $350 with an order discount value of $40:
