Configure and Manage a Reverse Sync User

Designate a reverse sync user in Flourish for daily alignment with state track and trace software. This guide explains setup and management.

Configure and Manage a Reverse Sync User

Purpose

Configuring a designated Reverse Sync User in your Flourish environment ensures daily alignment of your data with your state's mandated track-and-trace system. This setup applies to both METRC and BioTrack clients — any facility operating in a track-and-trace state must designate a Reverse Sync User, not only those on METRC. This article explains how to set up and manage this user in Flourish.

Important Note for METRC Clients
If your Reverse Sync User generates a new API key, or their METRC profile is disabled, your facility-level sync fails and nothing syncs between Flourish and METRC. If this happens, contact Support for assistance.
Important Note for BioTrack Clients

The same requirement applies to BioTrack. Your designated Reverse Sync User must remain active and properly permissioned in BioTrack, or your facility-level sync fails. If your sync stops working, contact Support for assistance.

Prerequisites

  1. Confirm the designated Reverse Sync User has a valid API Key applied in Flourish for your track-and-trace system (METRC). For BioTrack Users, confirm the username (email address) and password is valid.
  2. Confirm the Reverse Sync User has all required permissions toggled to "manage" in your track-and-trace system.
  3. For METRC clients, click here to learn how to find or generate your METRC API Key and apply it to your Flourish profile.
  4. For METRC clients, click here to learn more about the required METRC permissions for the Reverse Sync User.
  5. For BioTrack clients, confirm with your compliance contact that the designated user holds the equivalent manage-level permissions in BioTrack.
  6. Confirm you have the proper user permissions on your Flourish profile to edit the Reverse Sync User. Click here to learn more about permissions.
  7. Confirm your user role has the Admin > Facilities > Update > Update preferred reverse sync user permission enabled.
