Purpose
Apply a discount to a customer's order in Retail POS or Flourish Web to reduce the price of a single line item or the full purchase. Use this when a customer qualifies for a promotion, price adjustment, or loyalty offer. Promo codes use the same line or order scope as a standard discount, but staff must enter the code before Flourish applies it.
Prerequisites
Before you apply a discount, confirm:
- The discount is created in Manage Settings > Retail > Discounts.
- The customer, items, facility, order type, and time meet the discount rules.
- Whether the discount applies to one line item or the full order.
Apply a Discount in Retail POS
- Open the customer's order.
- Select the discount tag icon next to the line item to open Manage Line, or below the subtotal to open Order Discounts.
- Locate the eligible discount.
- Toggle the discount on.
- Complete any required reason or manager approval.
- Close the discount window.
- Confirm the discount and updated total in the cart.

Apply a Discount in Flourish Web
- Open the retail purchase.
- Select Edit Purchase.
- Select the dollar-sign icon next to a line item for a line discount, or below the subtotal for an order discount.
- Toggle the eligible discount on and select Apply.
- Save the purchase.
- Confirm the updated order total.

Apply a Promo Code in Retail POS
- Select the discount tag icon for the line or order scope that matches the promo code.
- Enter the code in the Promo Code field.
- Select Check Code.
- Confirm the discount and total.
Apply a Promo Code in Flourish Web
- Select Edit Purchase.
- Enter the code in the Promo Code field.
- Select outside the field to apply the code.
- Confirm the discount, then save the purchase.
Expected Result
The discount appears on the intended line item or order and changes the total as expected. If a code doesn't apply, check that it's entered correctly, still available, and — for single-use codes — not already redeemed. If an order-level discount fails, try applying it at the line level instead.
