Applying a Retail Discount

If you've already created your discount, you can apply it to a retail order in either the Point of Sale or the web application.

In the Point of Sale

  1. In the POS app, navigate to your customer's order.
  2. Open the order, then click on the discount tag icon
This tag appears next to your order line for line-level discounts and underneath the order subtotal for order-level discounts.
  1. Locate your discount in the Manage Line or Order Discounts modal.
  2. Click the toggle next to your discount, so it turns green.
  3. Click the X icon in the top-right of the modal to return to your order.

In the Web

  1. In the web app, navigate to your customer's order.
  2. Open the order, then click Edit Purchase in the top-right corner.
  3. Click the Dollar Sign icon
    1. If your discount is a line-level discount, click the icon next to the line item.
    2. If your discount is an order-level discount, click the icon under the subtotal.
  4. Click the toggle next to your discount, so it turns green, then click Apply.
  5. When you're done, click Save Purchase.

Applying Promo Codes

Promo codes are similar to regular discounts, but they need to be applied differently. Promo codes are applied at the line level or the order level, depending on how your discount is configured.

  • If your discount takes money off of a single item, it's a line-level discount.
  • If your discount takes money off of the entire purchase, it's an order-level discount.

In the Point of Sale

  1. In the POS app, navigate to your customer's order.
  2. Open the order, then click on the discount tag icon
This tag appears next to your order line for line-level discounts and underneath the order subtotal for order-level discounts. Click the one your promo code applies to.
  1. Enter your promo code in the Promo Code field.
  2. Click Check Code.
    1. If you receive a message that says Invalid Promo Code, check that you entered it correctly. If it's been entered correctly, make sure the code you've entered is available and has not been used yet. If a single-use promo code has been redeemed, it cannot be entered again.
If you receive a message stating that "Promo Code is not valid for order-level discount," try to apply your discount to the order line instead.

In the Web

  1. In the web app, navigate to your customer's order.
  2. Open the order, then click Edit Purchase in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter your promo code in the Promo Code field in the bottom-right.
  4. Click outside of the field to apply the code.
If you receive a message that says Invalid, check that you entered it correctly. If it's been entered correctly, make sure the code you've entered is available and has not been used yet. If a single-use promo code has been redeemed, it cannot be entered again.
