Creating Trade Sample Packages and Trade Sample Adjustments in METRC States

Updated by NIr Malchy

Please refer to your state's documentation on the limits and recommended procedures for Trade Samples. Flourish supports trade samples in states where METRC's API enables it. In states without Metrc, this attribute is available for tracking and reporting purposes. In some states, trade samples are removed from the system with an adjustment. In other states, trade samples are created and distributed to retailers on a manifest. Sometimes, both workflows are allowed.

Trade Sample Package Adjustments

Select a package and adjust the inventory accordingly using the correct adjustment code. Typically, this method is used for trade samples intended for employees.

Trade Sample Packages

When creating a package, select the "Trade Sample" option. You can do this at creation or by editing the package attribute. Then use the correct transfer type to transfer the trade samples to the receiving license holders.

Trade Sample Packages in Flourish: Check the "Trade Sample" box on the package creation confirmation screen.

Trade Sample "Edit Attributes"

  1. Find the package
  2. Actions > Edit Attributes
  3. Check or Un-Check the Trade Sample Flag
  4. Save to update this attribute

Trade Sample Reporting

Navigate to the analytics module to run a report on trade sample adjustments and packages over a time period.
