Location Functionality for California Microbusinesses

What is the update?

METRC published their new functionality for California Microbusinesses on the METRC CA Bulleting 2021-008 Location Functionality for Microbusinesses.

Since you already use Areas and sometimes Locations in Flourish, we will ensure that the Areas you set to your plant batches, plants, harvests, and packages sync to the METRC Locations.

Clarification about Internal Transfers

What do I need to do?

Not a lot, we will make sure all the information is synced smoothly, and you do the following:

  1. In Flourish, disable all the Areas you are not using. Flourish will not let you disable Area that has packages, batches, or plants in them.  Learn here How to disable Areas.
  2. Set METRC Location Type for the all the Areas
  3. Use Bulk Actions to locate all of your active packages
  4. Configure Flourish to do the following:
    1. Require newly created packages to be located.
    2. Set a Default Area upon receiving.

Disable Areas

In Flourish, disable all the Areas you are not using. Flourish will not let you disable Area that has packages, batches, or plants in them.  Learn here How to disable Areas.

Set METRC Location Type for Areas

Don't do it in METRC

Do the following in Flourish Software :

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Facilities.
  3. Select Areas.
  4. For each Area:
    1. Click CONFIGURE
    2. In the "Edit Area" screen
    3. Select METRC Location Type
    4. Click Save

Configure Flourish

Configure Inbound
  1. Go to Settings > Configuration
  2. Locate Inbound
  3. Toggle ON "Default Area upon receiving"
  4. Select the Area from the dropdown
  5. You can also set the Location
  6. Scroll up to the top right and click
The Location (Optional) field does not sync to METRC. You don't have to set a default one or use one in Flourish.

Configure Inventory
  1. Go to Settings > Configuration
  2. Locate Inventory
  3. Toggle ON "Require newly created packages to be located:"
  4. You can also set Default Area and Default Location
  5. Scroll up to the top right and click

The Default Location (Optional) field does not sync to METRC. You don't have to set a default one or use one in Flourish.
