Step 1 - preparing for METRC CA Location Functionality for Microbusinesses.

Updated by NIr Malchy

Hi!

Why are you reading this?

We are following up to update you and answer any questions regarding California Location Functionality for Microbusinesses.

We wanted to ensure you know the update and what you need to do (not a lot) to make this smooth transition and remain in compliance.

We are happy to answer any questions, so please do not hesitate to ask them.

What is the update?

METRC published their new functionality for California Microbusinesses on the METRC CA Bulleting 2021-008 Location Functionality for Microbusinesses

Since you already use Areas and sometimes Locations in Flourish, we will ensure that the Areas where you locate your plant batches, plants, harvests, and packages sync to the proper METRC Locations.

What is the next step?

We are in contact with METRC because, on our end, we want to help you transition as smoothly and as soon as possible. However, we have to wait until METRC and the California METRC API are ready to accept package locations from Flourish (plant batch, plant, and harvest locations are already required).

Currently, neither METRC nor its API is set up to associate Locations with packages, and METRC has not yet provided a test (sandbox) environment for testing the coming changes.

Once we know METRC is ready for the changes, we will reach out to you and guide you to make them only in Flourish.

What will you need to do?

As I mentioned:

  1. Please don’t do anything yet.
  2. Any changes you make, make only in Flourish.

However, when we know all the information is synced smoothly, we will ask you and guide you on doing the following:

  1. Set METRC Location Type for Areas
  2. Use Bulk Actions to locate all of your active packages
  3. Configure Flourish to do the following:
    1. Require newly created packages to be located.
    2. Set a Default Area upon receiving.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime?

Yes!

In the meantime, in Flourish, disable all the Areas you are not using. Flourish will not let you disable Area that has packages, batches, or plants in them.  Learn here How to disable Areas.
