Mobile App - Using a scanner for Cultivation Actions

The mobile app enables you to use the scanner to initiate cultivation actions on a mobile device. You can scan one tag or multiple and access different actions on the tags you scanned.

  • Scan a single plant tag and get access to actions on the single plant or the groups that contain this plant.
  • Scan multiple plants tag and get access to bulk actions on the tags you scanned.

You can use the mobile app to Scan and Record Weights for Plants.

Scanning Tips

Mobile phone or handheld scanner? Click to expand:
* If you use a mobile phone, your camera will display a scan box on the device. Move the barcode inside the scan box until you hear a 'beep.'
* If you are using a handheld Zebra Android scanner device, the screen should say, "Please use the yellow button on your Zebra device to begin scanning."

Scan Plant Tags for Actions

Scan a single tag

  1. Tap the Cultivation module icon:
    Tap "Cultivation" at the top of the screen
  2. To begin scanning, tap the Scan Plant Tags for All Actions button:
    Tap "Scan Plant Tags for All Actions"
  3. Scan the plant tag you want to act on. A 'beep' sound follows the scan.
    1. To cancel the current scan, tap the red X icon .
  4. After the 'beep', tap the Green Arrow icon to access the actions available for the tag.
  5. Select from the single plant actions or tap View Group to access the Group Actions.

Scan multiple tags

  1. Tap the Cultivation module icon:
    Tap "Cultivation" at the top of the screen
  2. To begin scanning, tap the Scan Plant Tags for All Actions button:
    Tap "Scan Plant Tags for All Actions"
  3. Scan the plant tag you want to act on. A 'beep' sound follows the scan.
    1. Don't leave this screen. Proceed to scan the following tag after the 'Beep' sound.
    2. To cancel the current scan, tap the red X icon .
  4. Once finished scanning all your plant tags, tap the Green Arrow icon in the top right of the screen to review the tags you scanned on the ACTION QUEUE screen.
  5. On the ACTION QUEUE screen, you can do the following:
    1. Tap View Actions to Proceed to the BULK ACTIONS menu.
    2. Tap "Remove All and Cancel" to return to the main Cultivation module screen.

Single Plant Actions

Once you scan the plant tag, the app displays a screen with the plant details and available actions:

  • Kill Plant.
  • Move Plant.
  • Record Waste.
  • View Group and access actions on a group.

  • Tap Kill Plant and Yes to confirm.
  • Tap No to cancel and exit.

Move Plant

The "Move Plants" action is similar to splitting the scanned plant out of a larger group. If there was only one plant in the group, the following steps are still the same.

Tap "Move Plant" from the list of actions, and then select to move the plant to a "New Group" or an "Existing Group."

To Move the plant to a New Group (default selection)

  1. Enter the New Group Name.
  2. Select the Area Type.
  3. Select the Destination Area.
  4. Tap Save.

Move the plant to an Existing Group in the same cultivation phase only:

  1. Tap the selection to Existing Group.
  2. Tab the Select Group dropdown to find the group. You can scroll or use the search box.
  3. Tap Save.

Record Waste

  1. Tap Record Waste.
  2. Enter the waste weight.
  3. Tap Next.
  4. Enter Comment (optional).
  5. Tap Save. (Tap Cancel to cancel).

View Group

Tap View Group to access the Group Actions.

Group Actions

To get to the "Group Actions," scan any plant tag from the group you want to act on and select View Group from the list of actions.

  1. Before selecting the desired action, specify which "Strain" you want to act on by tapping the dropdown menu. You can also select 'All' strains.
  2. Select the action:
    1. Edit Active Plants (For a single strain immature group)
    2. Move Group.
    3. Split Group.
    4. Record Waste.
    5. Group Notes.

Edit Active Plants

This Group Action is only available for a single strain immature group.
  • If you have a plant tag printed for your immature plants, then you can scan a tag to get to the "Group Action" screen.
  • Alternatively, instead of scanning a tag, you can tap "View Groups & Plants" from the main Cultivation screen and then tap on the immature group from the lists of groups.

  1. Tap on "Edit Active Plants."
  2. Either tap the Quantity to Adjust or tap the or icons to increase or decrease the New Active Plants count.

  3. If needed, enter an optional Comment and then tap Save to finish the plant count adjustment.
  4. A successful action prompts a success message: "Active Plants Adjusted!".

Move Group

Using the "Move Group" action will move all strains included in the group.

  1. Select the Area Type.
  2. Select the Destination Area for where you would like to move the group.
  3. Confirm that the Date and Time are correct.
  4. Tap Save.

Split Group

Use the "Split Group" Group Action to split the entire batch by the strain.
To split by specific plant ID, scan the plant tags individually to perform a bulk action or complete your action in the Web App.
  1. If there is more than one strain in the group, make sure you have the green checkmark icon next to the strain you want to move in the Included Strains to Move part.

  2. Select to split the strain(s) into a "New Group" or an "Existing Group."

    To move the plants to a New Group (default selection)

    1. Enter the New Group Name.
    2. Select the Area Type.
    3. Select the Destination Area.
    4. Tap Save.

    1. Tap the selection to Existing Group.
    2. Tab the Select Group dropdown to find the group. You can scroll or use the search box.
    3. Tap Save.

Record Waste

Recording the Waste from a group is used for internal tracking purposes.

  1. Tap the Waste Weight text field and type in the amount of waste in "Grams".
  2. Tap the Comment (optional) text field and include any necessary notes.
  3. Complete the action by tapping Save, followed by the message "Waste Weight was recorded successfully."
View the recorded waste weights on the Web App by navigating here: Inventory > Plants > Waste Log.

Group Notes

You can record a "New Note," or you can view or edit "Existing Notes."

To record a New Note, follow these steps:

  1. You can first tap the "Strain (optional)" dropdown menu so you can designate a strain if you write a new note.
  2. While under the "New Note" tab, tap into the "Note" text field and type in your note.
  3. Tap the calendar icon to set the "Note Date".
  4. Tap on the screen to remove the keyboard and access the Save button.
  5. Tap "Save." Find the note under "Existing Notes."

  1. To view the Existing Notes, tap on the "Note Date" dropdown field and then select the date you would like to view notes for.
  2. Tap the pencil icon next to the Note Date field to edit a Note.
    1. Click the "X" icon to cancel the edit.
  3. Tap the Note text field and then type in your edits.
  4. Tap on the screen to remove the keyboard and access the Save button.
  5. Tap Save Note to save your edits.

Bulk Actions for Plants

Once you have finished scanning your plant tags, tap the View Actions button to get to the "BULK ACTIONS" menu. From here, you can either Kill Plants or Move Plants.

Kill Plants

Select Kill Plants from the BULK ACTIONS menu.

  • Tap Yes to confirm.
  • Tap No to cancel and exit.

Move Plants

The "Move Plants" action is similar to splitting some plants out of a larger group. The following steps are still the same if you've scanned all the plants in a group.

Tap "Move Plants" from the BULK ACTIONS menu, and then select to move the plants to a "New Group" or an "Existing Group."
